Northside Hospital & Tampa Bay Heart Institute Delivers Back to School Wishes for Local School
August 17, 2009 St. Petersburg, FL- Northside Hospital & Tampa Bay Heart Inistitue will be helping one local school kick off the new school year in the right direction. On Wednesday, August 19, 2009, the hospital will be donating school supplies collected from employees over the course of a one month supply drive to Blanton Elementary, a local elementary school with a high population of at risk children. Blanton Elementary School, in St. Petersburg, supplied their wish lists and Santa Clause arrived early this year in the form of book bags, pencil sharpeners and microscopes.
Northside Hospital adopted Blanton Elementary as a part of St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Bakers Mayors Mentors & More program. In addition to boxes of school supplies, Northside Hospital will be delivering also purchased eight (8) microscopes to fill the schools brand new science lab. Blanton elementary, previously rated a D school, has improved their rating to an A school for the past two years.
